It s a all white converse mens challenging task to marry a design from 1917 (originally called the Non-Skid) with modern performance concepts, but Converse nailed thanks to a team led by the legendary Eric Avar. The long-time footwear and innovation designer at Nike played a role in bringing together a total package that includes a drop-in cupsole comprised of React foam, a uni-layer upper of Quadfit mesh, and a sticky outsole pattern inspired by the original traction layout of its predecessor.

Designed in part by Eric Avar  the man responsible for much of Kobe Bryant  s signature footwear  the All Star Pro BB features a new Quadfit mesh upper above a React midsole for cushioning that s both all white high top converse womens soft and responsive. The aforementioned midsole is then encased in a low-slung cupsole to ensure premium lockdown and containment. Although the shoe is chock-full of performance materials, it offers a plentiful helping of heritage as well, combining a tonal Chuck all white leather converse Taylor All-Star patch on the medial ankle, while a chevron logo that any Converse Weapon fan is sure to be familiar with graces the lateral quarter and outsole.

Over the next century, the Malden, Mass-based brand continued to innovate, adding Taylor s name to the shoe in the  30s, outfitting luminaries like Dr.J, Larry Bird, and Magic Johnson with silhouettes like the Pro Leather and Weapon in the  70s / 80s, equipping Larry Johnson  AKA all white low top converse Grandmama  with the Aero Jam in the  90s, and providing Dwyane Wade with signature footwear in the  00s. Now, much of that rich lineage has been melded into the Pro BB, a silhouette that combines the brand s storied history with Nike s latest and greatest tech innovations.
